Hello, Let me share lamp picture and discuss for further detail. The lamp plate show company name Sunlight while i do not have model detail only guessing that the plate with # 13170 could be either model number or serial number. Appreciate for any additional comment, advice. Regards,
That's an odd creature! They got some information about this lamp at the lamp guild. E.g these: Link 1 Link 2
It reminds me of the ceiling suspended lamps (or were they heaters?) that used to hang in the Lyon's Corner shop in my home town. Never did know if they were town gas fed or paraffin. Makes me wonder if it shouldn't have a mantle, but from the Guild images seemingly not.
Allow me add photo inside lamp focus in burner area. I found myself English is poor when want to describe about specific part and need Thai-English dictionary so please bear for my word and feel free to advise. p.s. I follow link of lampguild.org and found that never able to connect to the site. Is the lampguild.org site still active then maybe i do not have permission or limited connection ? Regards, March
March, Excellent presentation of the wick-burner mechanism. It is a very unusual arrangement. How many candlepower do you think it is? Tony
Very interesting system indeed. Can't give out much light though, but still very interesting It's active, and the links works. I have tested from other places than my regular computer. Try it again. If still no success, try to go to the archive search page here and type in e.g. Ross patent in the search field. The first page is http://lampguild.org/
Yes, This lamp received from EBAY Australia in 2011. Graham! Surprise that you have good detail :-) Before that i got one lamp locally in Thailand the only different is the kerosine tank body as attached also plate detail different. Tony , Let me estimate the candlepower should not more than 90. Thanks much Christer to confirm the lampguild site active and advise alternative link. BTW, seem i still not able to get thru. Follow your comment i may trial other computer and in different area with some help of my cousin. March
