The shade for Tilley VL1 lamp

    Finally I rebuild the shade of VL1 from the 1931 Tilley catalog. It looks quite similar to the original one.

    BTW, the Vl1 lamp is from a friend. If anyone knows someone who has one for sale, please let me know. Thanks.

    Amazing Phil, the shade finishes off the lamp beautifully. Just as a matter of interest what did you use for this version of the VL? Remember there are 6 different colours of the Bretby vase, presumably not one colour of shade would suit all 6 colours.

    That's a replica of the Tilley S5 shade - see the Lamp Reference Library for details (Bo Ryman's posts). However, a quick scan of those doesn't appear to show details of the range of colours available, unfortunately...

    Looks like many people has VL1, but me. T_T

    Here is how it looks when not used. It shows the color and material.
    The most critical part of the shade is the frame shape, other material can be changed easily.
