If you ever get over the border into Sussex, you can get kero on pump at the Local Fuels garages in Amberstone and Horam. 59.9p a litre, bring your own container.

60 pence per litre. That is cheap. To think a gas canister would last circa 5 or 6 hours would be my bet and cost at least 10 times that much.

Jeese, that's a great price, but it's an hour and a half each way for me so the savings would be overspent on diesel.

    Lucky ole you tell

Hi Bill. The closest for you would probably be the Local Fuels depot near the top end of The Broyle north of Ringmer towards Halland. It's the tanker depot but they have a pump there as well, same price. There is also one of their garages on the A27 eastbound between Falmer and Lewes but I don't know if they have a kero pump.

Terry you are a sheer genius Sir !

Ringmer is only 10 minutes away from me and we also have some 20 litre water containers in our stores that we can use as well.....

No probs Bill. If you go to the Ringmer depot, don't worry if you can't see a pump. It is inside a storage unit. Just ask a member of staff. They will show you where to pull up, unlock the unit and fill your containers.

To find the depot, drive north up The Broyle and look for a sign on the right that says "Heating oil on pump".

    OMG!

    What is happening to CPL?

This almost looks like a typical Lounge post on CCS!

Come on CPL members, put on your serious hats and behave as normal.

Of course it is but here you have to remember the English sense of humour (or lack of :) )

Trevor was referring to this thread wandering about all over the place as opposed to staying on track as they usually do over here.

There's no lack of sense of humour with either Trevor or me - lampies seem a far more serious bunch than stovies, as was evidenced within a very few days of Be-Back-Later starting up. The European sense of humour - it's no laughing matter, let me tell you...

It is refreshing when a thread finally gets away and goes who knows where (in a positive way).

I have experienced the humour in a few european coutries, but of course the Australians have the best humour. ;)

Yeah, he now seems to devote his life to heat rather than light.

I've seen YouTube clips of him with chillis, including a delightful one where he and his young daughter, (Maaike?) are sampling chilli chocolate and discussing it. It's worth seeking out and watching IMHO...

    Are you not a European??
Many times on this forum I have read contributors replying in a far too serious manner. IT'S ONLY A PASTIME OR A HOBBY. Relax the caxs.

    European? Not by choice, no.

I suppose I meant to say the 'mainland European sense of humour' (or seeming lack, thereof, sometimes). But it really wasn't meant to be taken that seriously - it was just a daft joke...

Closer than that, I am Australian. I just happen to have a danish wife who doesn't want to live in Australia. :(

Don't worry David, those of us that have been here a while have got used to that by now. :)
