    Hi all,
A beginners question as a new forum member.
I'm recently bitten with the pressure lamp bug having bought a Hipolito 502. I was put off fettling it myself because it was described as the F1 car of pressure lamps- not for beginners. (It has been brought to working order beautifully by an expert!)
Can anyone suggest an interesting lamp (possibly British) I can look out for on ebay or a car boot which would be a good one to add to a beginner's collection and I could strip down, renew washers etc. and set up again without needing loads of experience? All the best,
    Siatbury

    Welcome aboard!

An early Tilley lantern or a Bialaddin / Vapalux.

I echo the above, find yourself a Tilley Guardsman. Well built, easy to work on, good spares availability, reliable and rewarding.

Agree the Tilley X246 is well made. But any lamp from the X246 series X246 / X246A / X246B is easy to work on. There is an abundance of parts available on eBay if you break anything.

Thanks all- went with a BIaladdin 300x in lovely condition and it needed very little servicing. My next lamp is a Bialaddin 305 - maybe a Tilley next but i'll have to hide it in the man cave or I may suffer the wrath of Mrs Siatbury...

Hi, don't know where to ask since I am new:

I am looking for a NEBO light like this with a more classic shape https://static.mrosupply.com/cache/d7/d0/d7d0a50622627838bc86908d41d82dd4.jpg

You're looking for a pressure lantern that resembles that electric lantern? I suppose the Coleman Northstar looks pretty close.
