Hello all, I followed advice on the general forum and found a Bialaddin 300X to restore as a beginner's project. Can anyone explain the pricker control; is it supposed to turn through 360 degrees? There is a point (pardon pun) where it feels tight and the pin is up, carry on turning and it drops but this can be achieved in either direction- is this right? Sorry if this is obvious. The V marking doesn't correspond to up- don't suppose this matters greatly.. all the best Siatbury
Hello, the early Bialaddin/Vapalux pricker control did rotate 360 degress, but the later ones do not.
It should indicate up (i.e. it doesn't mean 'Vapalux') but as you say, if it otherwise works correctly, it's not a big deal...
Yes, I think most people just go by feel... That is were it feels tighter the needle is up. I prefer the older design, it's far too easy to have the lamp go out with the version that stops at the top.
Thanks to all for the advice and help- happy to say have had the satisfaction of firing successfully my first ever serviced and cleaned pressure lamp! I think the bug may have bitten...
