Received this last week, and fettled it up on the weekend. Had it burning by Sunday, and just need to make a trip to the Sally Ann or Good Will to get an old lamp shade to make a proper holder for the shade for this lamp. Made by American Gas Machines for Stanley's of London, and relabelled by Stanley's, this lamp was likely made around 1916, as it is the later version. A dream to work on, as the parts are very simple. I merely cleaned it up, and cleaned the generator tip. Unfortunately, it no longer has its own tip cleaner, just the lever left to make it look like it does, so I will have to disassemble it to clean the tip. Enjoy! BEFORE: AFTER:
Found myself an old lampshade, which I adapted to serve as a glass shade holder. Looks pretty darn nice, if I do say so myself:
It's stable. Mantle is not quite wide enough to take the shade into account. It has since been moved!
