Aladdin floor lamp

Sorry to mention the unmentionable wickie crap but can anyone tell me if there was ever a wooden floor standing Aladdin lamp? Or any other floor standing oil lamp?

 

Hi Jean, yes Aladdin made one, it's in an advert I posted here. I think I've seen others aswell, but they might have been Aladdin ones.

There are numerous illustrations of Aladdin floor pedestal lamps in (my old friend and colleague, the late) Allin Hodson's wonderful book: "Aladdin: Kerosene Lamps in Australia". Many were imported from the UK.

By the way, if anyone wants a copy of this book (203 pages), I know how to get hold of them, so let me know.

Jean, go to Trove, do a search on Aladdin, click on digitized papers, click on advertising and you will get about 70000 results.
I suggest going to "Australian Woman's Weekly", you will get coloured ads showing a few floor lamps.
