    Here is my A1 as requested, hope the pic works.
    In the future I may paint the font it's original green. I only had some Colman mantels which seem to work well.

    Is the hood cap copper?

    Thanks for that, I should have done it in the first place but continued on from comments on the other thread.
    Hi Matty, the top is nickel plated copper, not much nickel left so looks coppery.
    The lamp just may go camping with us after Christmas , good excuse eneyway. Usually take two Colmans , this time it could be three.

    Hey Rob,

    It kinda looked copper to me. I have only the one copper one and they have that distinctive colour about them.

    My copper one is also thinner and more flexible than the brass counterparts.

    Hi Matty, copper cap seems quiet solid to me, but definitely copper.

    I got gipped then :)

    Mine is quite noticeably thinner than the brass ones and it flexes easily.

    It was a bit bent when I got it but was easily nudged back into shape.
