Hi I have a vapulux lamp that I have fitted a new mantle on instead of popping and burning a gas it just has flames I have used it for a few years with no problem it is not pre heating problem so I will be thankful for any help. boater
Check that none of the air intakes have become blocked. Give the burner a good blow through and clean. Check that it is all tight, but go not use tools on it... Failing that, assuming you are preheating it enough and not putting to much pressure in initially, about the only thing left is the vapouriser.
It might seem odd that this has happened suddenly after a mantle change but I've got a sneaking suspicion that mantles, burners and vapourisers somehow work together as a team. Changing one of them sometimes seems to upset things for a while until they become 'used' to each other again. Completely non-scientific but I've seen it happen a few times and it's my best explanation so far...
That's what I thought just wanted to see if I missed anything else I have spare vaporizers I will let you know if I get a result when I LIGHT IT its nearly there but not quite. Thanks for your help boater p s not pre heating problem
Thanks for your help the lamps are like women you love them but you have to put up with their nonsense Boater
Boater I'm awaiting Jean's response to your comment, but she is probably too polite to put it in writing. I'm sure my spouse would say that she has to put up with all my lamp (and other) nonsense... Tony
Tony, you beat me to it! Boys, just treat your woman (or women) with as much care and consideration as you give your lamps and you won't go far wrong.
The heart of a house is a fantastic woman must be able to cook, clean and love husbands hobbies and you love her hobbies to . Works well here, both collecter, holics here. Bob .
I ha ve changed the vaporizer and the lamp is working great the old vaporizer looks in good condition so I am puzzled as to why they go wrong. glad my comment was taken in the spirit it was meant thanks for all your help. Boater
Copy all that, but is there a control for the volume? Vapourisors can enlarge and allow too much fuel through the jet without being readily visible to the naked eye, that will give flames from a mantle. Glad it's sorted.
