Since joining the forum this year and starting my apprenticeship in lamp fettling I've been learning a lot:

    Pressure lamps are highly contagious

(I only meant to get advice on a Tilley we had in our scout store and now I've got a growing collection of them!)

You can ever have "too many"
(Strange that whenever you think that you don't want any more another one always comes your way)

If its broken then fix it
Always highly satisfying to get a rusted metal assembly into a working wonder!

You're never too young to start
The scouts in my Troop now argue about who is going to light up/carry the Tilleys when previously they would have wanted something with a battery in it !

    Your family will never understand

Kids: "Dad's gone to his saddo shed again to play with his lamps"

    or

Wife: "You stink of bl**dy paraffin again"

    "How much?"

    Friends online

Thank you to everyone who has helped me via the forum to enjoy the interesting world of Pressure Lamps.

a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to All

You nailed it Scouter Bill! My obsession, (currently) is Tilley Radiators. You can never have too many! And yes, I do stink of Bloody Kerosene! We can say that here in the U.S. of A.! Hahahaha!

Merry Christmas, Happy New Year and may all your Fettling be Fulfilling!

Maybe the details vary slightly, but that is pretty well summed up. From years of experience I will say that none of it changes. :)

    Merry Christmas
