Hi all, My first restoration this year, and my example of the stove/heater combo "Le Jumeau" ("The Twin"), from Vivier Paris around 1930. I got this one in a trade with a French collector. Enabled cast iron stand with pan support and a detachable brass tank with burner. Impressive size and French design at its best. I attach an ad from Le Figaro 1930 of this stove/heater. This image was first published in a post from a French pressure lamp forum. /Conny
these heaters were proposed in several colors here is a violet one. I only need the burner of the good size. Mine is a 68 mm from the "Le Cheminot" cooking stove. I am in need of a 75 mm in order to fit the heat spreader. Conny will send me this burner soon (thanks Conny) I lengthened the screws that hold the diffuser, but this is not satisfactory in terms of heat diffusion the printing house have made a mistake on the advertising, the name is not Vyvier, but Vivier (Louis) as you can see beneath of the iron cast
Thanks all, The French Auer Co. also made an identical stove/heater seen [url=http://0flo.com/index.php?threads/1560 Possible joint manufacturing Vivier and Auer, or licensed by Vivier? /Conny
yes, i had seen this Auer Le Jumeau, but I have absolutely no knowledge of this production by Auer the "Société Française d'Incandescence par le Gaz" is known for naturel gas burners and mantles since the beginning of last century. I know of only one catalogue for gas or kerosene appliances in 1932 it is here
It could be interesting that Andreas tells us what name is beneath the cast iron of its heater : Vivier or Auer ?
Many thanks Matthias This is very strange but we can only suppose that Auer have bought the right to use the casting mold. But at what period ? Still a question
It is indeed a fair thing ! Lovely Art Nouveau influence, flowing curves and the way the enamel is highlighted by the raised lines is fab ! .. ..The cast iron really suits enamelling, much less likely to flex or jump off with heat expansion...
