Tilly heater mantle

    I would think that the heat output is more a function of the burner than the mantle. Total heat would be constant, but the radiant (IR) heat may be slightly different.

    I run a CH-1 on my R55 sometimes, and the "hot spot" of light is actually quite warm.

    Never had an asbestos mantle so cannot compare, but the metal mesh ones give out plenty of heat.
