    Hi all
here is my last fettling project
Hasag 51 with Vaccum Oil Company logo
Some rust and nickel very sad, but I don't beleive many problems to fettle, but the glass.
I also wonder about the circle on the hood screw ?

    Hi Michel,
the top nut is original, they were used now and then for "Sunflowers" that I've seen so far, including the latest one that popped up at Ebay. Basically it is like an old 51A (late 1920's to early 1930's ) with some minor modifications.

The glass will be no problem, except to get an original one. Just look at e.g. Hytta for cylinders 122 mm Ø 122 mm (or some similar ~ 120 mm Ø 120 mm).

Nice lantern, and unfortunately I had my own "buffer" full when the above one was sold.

    Hi all
    The lamp is cleaned.
The nickel is a little worn but only the needle was missing.
But i think the jet is enlarged, as I have a big large flame at the mantle. Don't you think ?
what jet could fit ? hasag 351 ?

I have used a mix 50/50 of gasoline and kerosene in my Mewa in the past. Could it be better here ?

    Hello Michel,

Smaller Nozzle or Gasoline 100% will help here, but you must change the Seals to Viton.

    Best Regards

    I'll try 100 % gasoline soon
The seals are already changed with Viton, I always do ;-)

Do you know where to find a smaller jet ?

    Hi Michel,

just try one from an old 351L. Maybe one from a "Swiss Hasag" also will do. They are still to get sometimes and somewhere. But if you do the latter you will probably have to adjust the length of the pricker rod a bit.

Besides that there's no fuel valve and only a NRV in the pump the use of gasoline/petrol should be allowed and possible, since it's technically nearly identical to the 351L. However, this specific model was intended to be used with kerosene/paraffin, when I'm not in error.

    Ok Martin
Is there any Hasag which was only gasoline fueled and would be equiped with a real shut-off valve ?

    Michel,

to my knowledge only the "Hasag Presto" versions (with torch preheater) obviously should have a kind of fuel shut-off. I don't know of any other Hasag type that has, and I've never seen a Presto in real life.
But the directions of usage for the 351L clearly say "Vorsicht bei Verwendung von Benzin" which means the usage of petrol/gasoline was clearly allowed, however some precautions are recommended. And the Swiss Hasags were definitely petrol fueled.
