Any one know of anything Festival wise that might be welcoming to Lamping types in the North West or The Marches??..Perchance???...
NOOOOOOOOOO!!!!...Oh alright then.. ... BTW there are lots of smashing old time vintage rallys all around 'ere if anyone is holidaying an they're all good!!!.. ... I take it that you are travelling up?..
Bit to far for me my friend , don't often travel north of Watford, but Newarks an exception Edit, just read your edit, yeah I'm going up
Most, if not all, tents have beer in them no, not a beer tent as you mean I'm afraid. There is a central/communal tent called 'The Fettlers Arms' where you can take yourself along with a chair and whatever beverage you desire, and have a natter and a drink
...I say, that sounds very reasonable!!!....Hmmm, will have to give it some serious thought now there's lamps And beer involved!!! ..
I'm hoping to be at Newark this year, depending on the cruise calendar of course - unfortunately the local departures are in May and June. Newark or Copenhagen, Berlin, Tallinn, St. Petersburg, Helsinki and Stockholm? Or, maybe Iceland again. Hmm - tricky one...
Yeah they'll be another batch there this year Ray, I've still got a few bottles in the cupboard. It only comes out for Newark and Ashover. David, I think Newark sounds far better than any of those other places.
Yeah, I'm now considering 'Canada in the Fall' as an alternative cruise. It leaves for Canada in, er, The Fall, so Newark should be OK... Unfortunately it sails from Liverpool so it'll be full of bliddy Scousers...
Ive got a bottle in stock ready for your judgment. Im pleased with the result, but will let you decide if its to standard.
Oh ok then the things I do for you two, really So is it a date then ? Well, uh hum, you know what I mean
Ah you are good to us. You might even have your tent buddy back this year as well, right David. Pod Bros, I hope you decide to come along, you won't regret it.
Yeah, I hope so - although, as it happens, I'm vaguely thinking of another tin tent. We'll have to see...
I guess I'd be buying, Ray. I don't know anyone who'd be happy to loan me one and I'm not sure I'd want to borrow, either. But I wouldn't want to spend a fortune and I'm wary that my last cheapy lasted only 2-3 years. Storage and all the other stuff wasn't cheap, either. Got anything in mind?
Did think about a van a little while ago, but up to my armpits with my money pit of a house, so that idea didn't last long Canvas it is then
Well, nylon anyway... Can do yer canvas if you like - 4 metre diameter bell-tent. It's a lovely thing - rock solid - but a bliddy nuisance to take home wet. Nick had one exactly the same which survived a last week in November meet at Sykeside. My canvas frame tent blew away (well, the frame did) when we were setting it up but it did survive. The tent next door got ripped to shreds. Let's see if I can find the YouTube clip - bear with me - wanders off into distance... ...wanders back - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y68XNTAJE4I We had some proper laughs in those early days... Thanks, Chris - I missed it, not going last year. We've had some laughs there, too. I'll never forget the night of the 'one-armed corn merchant' - or Henry Pugh's twin brother, Stinky, turning up enexpectedly - or the hundreds of flare-ups etc., etc...
Not very nice weather that at all David Nicks a natural star isn't he Nah, let's stick with the nylon ( Tent that is, uh hum )
