When I bought my first Tilley from eBay I was determined only to collect Tilley lamps from the X246 series. Maybe one day I would indulge in an FL6 just for old times sake. Tonight a pair of PL53's appeared on eBay and The buy it now after a few glasses of wine button was hit. Oh well, gave the wife something to moan about. So all is not lost.
Hello Stuart, curious about those '53s as I came across a pair last week "in the wild". One had the straight handle and the other the coiled type. Do you have any pictures - I'm wondering if they're the same ones.

Well they arrived very fast. Handles look similar but one is slightly shorter than the other. Only other difference is that one has the pressure pip and the other has not.
Like those and just like HD said not the ones I saw. Rather better condition I think, in particular the hoods.
