Below is a photo of the two different pumps from my two FL6s shown here:

    Twins: FL6s

Both pumps have been modified through use and repair:

Could someone who has both or either of these pumps please post photos of the pump handle and the top end of the pump shaft so that I can see the detail of the original setup for each?

    Thank you in advance.

    Thanks, Bob and Jeff.

It seems that one of my FL6s has the older FL5-type pump without the wooden handle. The part attached to the pump rod in the photo above is, in fact, the locking mechanism for the glass door.

The pump rod takes a Hendon Tilley thumb knob. the one in the photo below os from another pump, and is not quite correct, but it will do for the time being:

The earliest FL6s with the soldered brass label on the tank came with the long, thin pump and thumb-knob...

Thanks, David... So I'm a lucky boy to pick up one of the early FL6s.

    Cheers

Your surely are. The narrow pump was only used on FL6 for about one year in 1937/8 and examples are rare. ::Neil::

The FL6 is in good nick, so I'm looking forward to getting it fettled and running (along with its mate).

I'm going to pull it apart today, but I'm waiting for the wind to die down so I can photograph the process.

    Cheers
