...Hi all!..... ..I am stripping the multi layers (4) of paint from a presumed PL53 steel tank.... .... the layer next to the steel is a 'Cream' or 'Magnolia' and by it's determination to stay put is original... ....Has anyone come across this colour before at all please???....... All suggestions gratefully received !... :-)
Could it be a tank from a Steel TL14, which were sometimes painted cream: [url=http://0flo.com/index.php?threads/6324
Hi Chaps, ..David ....... ....you may be right there! ..James ......... My fault here, ..Yes, the colour is close, but the tank I presume has been adapted from a PL53 as it has the two threaded 'spigots' for the handle as you would expect.... ...I didn't make that very clear.. ...Sorry, photos would be a real help and I hope to try but it means a trip to the library and I ran out of time today.. I am using the 'Wickes' brand of paint stripper which is slow but does work : the last time I used the old formula the paint would start to lift before I'd finished brushing it on!!!..... I will strip more from the base overnight and report back as I had a scrape or two and think there may be a repair? Thanks for all the help.... Regards PB
