    ...Hi all!.....
..I am stripping the multi layers (4) of paint from a presumed PL53 steel tank....

.... the layer next to the steel is a 'Cream' or 'Magnolia' and by it's determination to stay put is original...

....Has anyone come across this colour before at all please???.......

All suggestions gratefully received !... :-)

    Hi Chaps,

..David ....... ....you may be right there!

..James ......... My fault here, ..Yes, the colour is close, but the tank I presume has been adapted from a PL53 as it has the two threaded 'spigots' for the handle as you would expect....
...I didn't make that very clear..

...Sorry, photos would be a real help and I hope to try but it means a trip to the library and I ran out of time today.. :(

I am using the 'Wickes' brand of paint stripper which is slow but does work : the last time I used the old formula the paint would start to lift before I'd finished brushing it on!!!.....

I will strip more from the base overnight and report back as I had a scrape or two and think there may be a repair?

    Thanks for all the help....

    Regards

    PB

Like many other things, emasculated in the name of Health and Safety, the environment etc.

It sometimes makes me wonder how the human race managed to survive so long before they started to protect us from ourselves... ](*,)
