I wonder if anyone could confirm if the reflector for an AL8 track lamp is the same as that for a Tilley radiator ?
My AL8 reflector is in quite poor condition and it would be nice to replace it with something that could be polished up a little. The lamp is unrestored and in reasonable condition so I am hoping for a reflector of a similar condition. Regards David

David, this could depend on the date of the lamp.
The 1935 and 1937 catalogues refer to an aluminium reflector.
It could be that later AL8's had the copper plated reflector like the R1 but what I have seen are only described as reflectors , not mentioning the material.

AL8 reflector part number is 670 and the R1 reflector part number is 175.

Hi Anthony, Thanks for that, I should have said that the reflector on my lamp is aluminum so perhaps in the age range you mention. I will try to post up some photos soon. Regards David

My Al8 has a chrome plated copper reflector, not sure if it's the same as the R1, I haven't checked. Kenny's Al8 [url=http://0flo.com/index.php?threads/2140 looks to have the same aluminium reflector as Pete's early R1 [url=http://0flo.com/index.php?threads/483 notice they both have holes around the edge.
