Abused Vapalux 300X

    I picked up a very sorry looking Vapalux 300X recently - I didn't have the heart to take a photo of it in the before state - suffice it to say that it looked like it had been set on fire and then the top used to hammer in tent pegs... The paint is a bit light compared to the maroon that is still in evidence on the underside of the tank.

    Wow! well done so far, its just as well that the hood cap is easily replaceable on these, and the lower part can be pickled in acid and polished. have you fired it up? I just finished restoring mine but I'm having fun and games getting it to run propperly. ](*,)

    The control cock was blocked with something, which I think I've managed to remove now...

    I've painted the lower part of the hood with VHT back rather than polishing. I just need to test fire it now!
