These are my two Tilley shades with different flying ducks on them. There must have been quite a few versions of these or perhaps people stuck on their own transfers?
I'm afraid that having two complete Tilley setups like that, Jean, is against the rules. You must immediately divest yourself of one and send it to Australia... Cheers Tony
I've seen similar designs where the ducks are flying up from some pondside reeds or whatever. Possibly they're a bit 'twee' but I like 'em and I'd be happy to have some examples hereabouts...
I've finally acquired a TL146 for sensible money and I need a shade as well as an earlier onion globe marked made in England. I rather like the one on the right, I wonder if it is possible to get some transfers made? Unless you're not planning to hold onto that one Jean? HD
If you need to have a minimum size batch made up put me down for a couple of sets, please. Whilst I'm generally in favour of reproducing items when there's no attempt to deceive, there can be a problem when such items are passed on as genuine, either unwittingly or as intentional fraud. There are some greedy, unscrupulous people about, that's for sure. I feel it's always better if reproduction items are marked as such when possible or made slightly differently from the originals so that it's easy to tell the difference. It wouldn't completely eliminate the problem, but what can you do, eh?
.... Lovely Ducks Jean ! ... I only remember the water type transfers from my Airfix days... ...Would the heat not dry them up and cause peeling etc?... ...Hand painted ducks sound much more fun to me and wouldn't be too hard to do?... pb
