Hi All I've just picked up a Tilley DN250 kerosene pressure iron. It looks to be all there. The first thing is to pull it to bits and restore it. What is the best method of removing the green control knob? Is there a procedure in dismantling the beastie such as to not destroy any parts? Just asking before I assault the DN250. Cheers
You don't remove the green knob. That is part of the vaporiser. Three screws holding the tank and then unscrew the gland nut at the top of the fuel feed and the tank is free, then the two screws at the back of the sole plate and unscrew the hex nut over the air intake and the sole plate drops off. gPretty simple things to dismantle really. ::Neil::
i have all the parts needed for a iron if you need them even a tank ;they have all been cleaned right down the screws the tank as well ;
Thanks guys, and thank you Makburner for the heads up on the green knob, I would have tried to get it off with no doubt disastrous consequences. Stormie4me, that's great to know that you have spare parts, when I perform the vivisection I'll see what the lay of the land is. Thanks again guys Cheers
