Repro on the left from base-camp. I cannot be certain that the one on the right is an original but it came with one of my lamps so I think it is. The repro is made of thinner glass and has a narrower lip.
I have a couple of these with one spare and the other on one of my chandeliers. They are slightly smaller and only just hang in there. Good enough though and since finding the real thing is near impossible they are a much needed repro. ::Neil::
Can you check the dimensions of this globe? It might fit some other lamps too. I have a Swedish Comet that is missing the globe and I am hoping to find a replacement. Thanks in advance. Bo
James, Re your above post and photo's. The Blanchard Globe on the right is 100% genuine and would have been made by Pyrex although very few are marked as such. W. T. Barnard sold my farther what few Blanchard Globes he still had before he retired in 1965. After that in about 1966/7 my farther went to Pyrex in Sunderland to see if they could still make him some more Blanchard Globes, and they said as they still had the mould they would, and agreed to make him a batch. The photo is of a new one with it's box and rubberised packing sealant still on the rim. And the other photo of one side by side with one with it removed.
