Hi Just purchased an anchor looks in great condition but I can't get any pressure I have soaked the plunger leather but I think the air valve is seized shut it won't allow any air into the tank , only problem is I cannot get into the pump it all seems sealed do you access it through the tank or can you unscrew it somehow Really running out of ideas shame this is a great condition lamp Bob
The valve is located at the bottom of the pump tube and to access it you need to unscrew the cap from the top of the pump tube and remove the plunger and if i recall correctly a notched tool is needed to remove the valve. Shine a light down the pump tube and you will see the type of head which is on the valve, it's a good idea to tighten the valve a touch before trying to unscrew it, once the valve has been removed then it can be taken apart and the seal replaced and the spring cleaned etc.. The link below shows the proper valve extractor and it also shows how to make one from a bolt. http://0flo.com/index.php?threads/1705
Anchor use a slot in their NRV so a suitable sized screwdriver should do the job. I worked on one for not so long ago with good result. Be sure that you do not use a too small screwdriver because you will destroy the slot in the NRV. Michael
Hi I managed to push a piece of wire down and loosen the valve it lit brilliant and boy what a bright light !! Thanks Bob
It could be tar like substance I'm currently soaking Tilley project with kids. A black treacle gunk that is slowly coming out in globs
