Here's my collection of A.C. Wells products. Just received the big number 14 flare lamp today, so I thought i'd get the group together and take some pictures. I think the 14 is worthy of the gravity section in the gallery, but I can't get good pictures of it hanging up in the poor light so I'll take some more when the sun comes out next time. I'm really pleased with it, seems to be a fairly uncommon lamp. I just really want to get it lit now. 8)

Hi Wim, yes it should be an interesting one if I can get it lit. Just realised I didn't post a full length picture of it, I did take one so I must have forgotten to add it. I'll make sure it's at Newark, it'll be something a little different to have burning. [-o<

Hello Matt, Wells also marketed pressure lamps and perhaps some will turn up.

Thanks for the links Jeff, there's something for me to keep an eye out for. It would be nice if one of those would turn up for me.

It was a round about way I got it Terry, lost it first time but got an email from the seller saying the winning bidder was in Australia and he wasn't going to ship it abroad. He offered it to me and relisted it at a price we agreed on. I really am over the moon with it and if I can get it running, then all the better. Roll on Newark 2017. :D

Here is the full length picture. The last picture in the first post was to give an idea of size, but that would only work if you know how big a number 20 moulders lamp is. So rough measurements are 32 inches from lowest point on burner to the filler cap (longer if I included the handle) and about 9 1/2 inches across the fuel tank. Haven't weighed it yet, but the parcel stated 9kgs.

Thanks Ozzy, it certainly has gone to a good home. :D

If I manage to successfully light it I will get pics posted up. It runs on paraffin, but I'd imagine if it doesn't go to plan there would be quite a flare up. Definitely an outside job.

Thanks Pete, everything seems good, can't see too much corrosion, lower end of the feed tube was a bit coked up but cleaned up.

Haha, the only thing I think will need sorting before fuel goes in is the packing around the regulator wing nut. It's quite loose to unscrew so I guess it'll probably leak. Hopefully I can get the packing nut out and get some of Terry's graphite packing in there. [-o<
