A seller on ebay has a number of Tilley FL6 lamps for sale in original wooden packing cases. This is a "buy it now" listing and not an auction, so I think that posting a link is OK. 1 sold and 9 still for sale at present. There are plenty of posts on here and CCS regarding this seller. He has a well documented history of operating multiple accounts and using friends/relatives to bid on his own auction items and so push the prices up. He was also manipulating his feedback the same way. A couple of years ago he was suspended by Ebay for "feedback manipulation" and "fraudulent practices". He may have changed his ways, but I wouldn't buy a thing from him. Terry
These are Swiss army sets. The lamps are not the same as the normal FL6s we see. The tanks and lamp casing are much heavier and better protected. The box is Swiss military standard and very sturdy and well made. I have seen a number of them in Switzerland where they were being offered for about the same price. Seems a lot but pehaps as a complete set not over priced. The seller is cause for caution though. ::Neil::
Without the stand they cost around 185 euros in swiss. With stand 265 euros. So there is some profit made somewhere.
I am a little out of date with these. I thought I remembered Ruedi selling these for about the same as a Hospital set and have a vague memory that set cost about €400. Mind you that was nearly 15years ago and memory fades. ::Neil::
