Hello All A good and happy new year to you . I won a lot at auction and with the exception of wiki lamps I am hoping the pressure lamps are not too testing to fettle . Anyone want to put me right on the models in the picture ? Michael
Looks like there's a very nice kl80 in there, Veritas 350, although it appears all brass, was that an option? Tl 106 and 136, bialaddin 305, with the original rounded glass in the basket, be careful with that one. Veritas superspeed wickie, possibly a famos 120cp, Aladdin 23...
Thank you Mathew The one in front of the KL80? Is that the Veritas 350 as I will need to preempt getting the burner /hood on this . 10/10 observations The glass in the basket i thought was a tilley 246 . Many thanks on your obs Michael
Yeah, that's what I think is a Veritas. Pretty sure it is, but not seen one with a brass cage I don't think. Veritas superspeed is the one very top left of your picture, could be a famous though.
Yes Phil I am inclined to think the same hoping more unused than cleaned. It will be more or less a week until l get them . Waiting is not my strong point !
The Bialaddin is model 310 not 305. You can just see the top of the glass holder for 310 and that globe was only used on lantern model 310. ::Neil::
Thank you Mack I can see the shape of the globe from ref gallery now . And Jeff all your comments are appreciated bit of a job lot gamble and my spares list is growing.
I do that all the time but I have the excuse than being well over 70 I am allowed to have senior moments. ::Neil::
Didn't they do them in lacquered brass in the '30s? The reason I ask , is that I think I can just make out the decal on the rim of the tank of the short table lamp (it's very forshortened by the angle of view), which means that it might be the original finish- or whoever polished it knew enough to source a new decal and put it on...
Yes Jean way to expensive I use abbey couriers not for the first time. cheaper than mailboxes, far too expensive . The only downside is I will need to wait longer and you know what that is like when waiting for a lamp to turn up. As for the table lamp polished or not it looks quite tidy the only reservation I have is the KL lamp in the background as to the lamp holder at top looks like it is missing a bit top left. Must be more patient . Michael
Tl10's came in polished brass early on, those short ones are later and were either painted or very rarely plated. None of them had a decal on the rim of the tank, all table lamp decals were on the base plate. Some of those short lamps did however have a stamp on the base rim. The Kl80 will most likely be alright, you may already know, but there are two screw on nut type thingies that hold the ring on the bottom of the frame and when sat on a flat surface the frame will lean one way or the other. The top left is just hidden behind the gallery.
Thank you Matthew one less bit of work to do . I will obviously need a nice shade / globe assuming the fount is not too battered. Michael
If they're not hiding somewhere amongst all the bits and pieces. Otherwise, you need to get onto eBay, reflectors are available for under £20. An onion globe will do for a shade, I would have recommended one of these Here but unfortunately they're out of stock. Fingers crossed they find some more, they look good on a Kl80 like Jeff's 1961, KL.,80.
The gallery on the KL-80 appears to be fitted upside down and it looks like there is a globe fitted to it.
KL80 from my auction lot . Definitely lacquered brass No dings dents Fount does not appear to have been used ! Although vapouriser has been used and burner seems unused. Anyone know which way up the smoke deflector goes -- Michael
Smoke deflector goes as you've got it in the first picture. Although the cat doesn't look convinced. Very nice looking lamp, should run well. Edit: Haha, crossed with Paul, there is something running through that cats mind.
Are we sure about the smoke deflector? Anyway the cat is looking like Toothless the Night Fury dragon and definitely steals the show! I like the lamp too of course!
