    Hi,
Any suggestion on how to remove the cleaning rod from this Radius 103 vaporizer is much appreciated.
The cleaning needle have been removed already.
    Thanks

    Hello Daniel and welcome.

Usually it is a build up of carbon, both on the needle rod and inside the vapouriser tube which causes the rod to stick.
One good way is to heat the vapouriser to a dull red colour, then plunge it into cold water. The thermal shock will crack the carbon and break it into smaller pieces. You may have to do this a few times but it will work.

    Henry.

Heat the stuck section with a blowtorth until a dull red, then chuck in a bucket of water. Repeat until it comes apart. Oh and remove the jet first.

You can try heating it over a gas stove or Primus stove if you do not have a blow torch.

You need to be careful when heating this type of generator because the Preston loop is brased in place and you must not heat to more than dull red or you run the risk of melting the joints. Found this out the hard way. ::Neil::

Thanks guys, I managed free the cleaning needle rod from the choked vaporizer using your heat and quench suggestion.
I am documenting my progress here.
