Hi everyone, this is my first lamp and my first restore.
First of all I would like to thank you guys for this wonderful forum and all you helpful and friendly members. Its a true treasure.

The lamp have had a hard life and hopefully it will be returned to its former glory.
    Some before pictures:

    Beginners misstake no1:
I did not try to light the lamp before starting the fettle neither did a do a tank test under water. We will see if I end up with shining useless lamp with a stress cracked tank in the end.

Since I lacked the necessary tools, packings and washers i decided to take the lamp apart and fettle each component until I got my hands on the above.
Besides the cracked glas it seams like the lamp is complete but there are 2 problems/defekts.
    1. The cleaning needle rod is stuck inside a choked vaporizer, which you guys helped me with in this thread
    2. The gas chamber is stuck to the inner cover (I tried the heat and quench technique with no success).

Do not use the hammer when trying to get the cleaning needle rod out of the vaporizer, its a quick way to destroy the bottom screw threads on the rod.

The cleaning needle rod threads was restored using a M3 tap.
Since I was not able to tighten the jet inside the vaporizer, I also re-threaded the upper part of the vaporizer.

I think we have all tried methods that with hindsight we wish we hadn't.
It's all part of the learning curve.

Out of interest what was the pitch of the tap you used( M3 x ?)?

Good luck and the lantern should clean up nicely.
