I couldn't resist getting one of these not so long ago. I know it's a wick lantern, but it sort of completes the set from an Optimus brochure from the 1990s (I believe). Here are some more details of the lantern. With regards to the brochure. I thought that by the 1990s the 1550 had a black top and the 1200 was the version with black wheel and 'Petromax' quick starter (like the 1550). I'm pretty sure the 1551 wasn't introduced until the 1990s, so it's a bit confusing.
I was thinking of that but don't have a blue background. Actually, the three 'real' lamps are packed away three different places, so it's going to take a bit of a hunt.
Hi friends! Just came across the forum trying to value the 1552. Is it a pressure latern? I sold it already but want to know what yall would value it at. Thank you for your time, expertise and attention in advance. I think the buyer scored on price. Please advise at your earliest. You are greatly appreciated ty
Welcome, @Mimi Porras The 1552 is a wick lamp (not a pressure lamp). The site policy is that valuations are not given. Best regards Tony
