Yes, I've used it (them) a lot.

Good for parts that get hot; but it will fail on hoods (vents).

I've tried many kinds of high heat paints and lacquers but none last long on Tilley/Coleman etc hoods.

    Cheers

these are not the best that they have - get the VHT Flame-Proof stuff--Had it on my Toyota Headers for 3 years now and no flaking/peeling or faults

    I've used the
VHT "flame proof" as well; it lasts a bit longer, but it eventually fails on hoods and vents closest to the flame/mantle. Great on manifolds, though...

    Cheers

I have sprayed Tilley hoods with stove / BBQ paint and had no problems. It is usually good for about 700 / 750 degrees C which is more than enough to cope with the heat output.

Thanks for the info, looks like I'll give the VHT brand a miss.

I have used stove paint before but have yet to find one that gives a gloss finish- they all seem to be matt.

Stove polish gives a little bit more shine than VHT paint. But I suppose there is no substitute for enamel.

This has come up many, many times on the Coleman forum. No one has yet found a paint that works on vents/hoods. There are, however, several companies that will re-enamel vents.

The folks at Independence Porcelain Enamel do a great job--a fair price and the product is super clean and period correct.
