I am slowly making progress with my shed project. It is 4.8 x 3.6 x 2.2m. It must still be anchored to the concrete floor, sealant applied all round and the outside walls and floor painted. I've bought a 55W solar panel and intend to power an alarm system and LED lights from it. Then I will install the adjustable steel shelving and a work table. As you can see, a lamp or two will provide ample light if I want to work there in the evenings.
Well, if I get most of the lamps, stoves and heaters out of the house soon enough I'm hoping a bed will not be necessary...

The outside is 8mm Nutec fibre cement board. It must still be painted with acrylic PVA. The inside is plywood which I will leave bare so that any damp coming through from the outside will not be trapped. The walls were pre-built in the factory and just assembled on site, and the roof put on. It took only 3 hours for a team of 4 workers to erect.
That looks about the size of what I'd like to put up in the garden. I'd like a bit more space for my workshop, lathe and drill press are a little hard to get at without rearranging everything first. Also I'd like a bigger lathe so more space would definitely be a requirement. Our current shed is good if it wasn't so full, but its damp in there and everything goes rusty so something needs to be sorted.
Update: The shed is now bolted to the floor, sealed all round with polyeurethane foam, self-leveling screed done and floor painted with epoxy floor coating. Next step will be hooking up the PV panel, controller, battery , LED strip lighting, alarm system and then installing the shelving. Anouk testing the new floor while Topaz is on guard outside
Looking good Phil! I had mine installed about three years ago on a laminated wood floor. It now needs to be moved to a concrete slab, looks a lot better!
The idea was to future-proof it to accomodate a lathe, drill press and the like if necessary. The standard wooden floor would have been limiting, to say the least!
I have made a bit of progress in the interim. More shelving and more lamps, stoves and heaters to come, though.
Well, that's a bit of a catch-22; I'd have to sell off some lamps to afford a bigger shed, but then I won't need one!
