I have an early Austramax 3/300 somewhere hereabouts and it's got a nice burner, shiny air tubes, but a base plate that's lost some of it plating. I haven't really played with it yet, so I'm being lazy and asking everyone here.

Does anyone know if it's possible to replace the base plate with another from a used lower frame?

Worst case I'd buy a new/good used lower burner assembly, but they don't seem to sell new ones on their own, I can only see complete burners on sale.

The air tubes are stepped at the base-plate and rolled (riveted) on the underside. It would be impractical to undo and redo that.

Yes, I thought that might be the case.
