Nice work on the new site, well done all. Project under way just a few usual questions. Could someone advise me as to the needle pin and needle assembly I am assuming it is in two parts. It appears to be stuck inside tube or may be I am being to gentle with it . Also is the needle just for pricking or is it used as a stop /go . and what mantle would be best , is there a overhaul kit still available . Cleaned it up done a dunk test amazingly no leaks (had to use a tilley leather for pump temp It has held its pressure for 24 hours now .
Nice lantern ! If you unscrew the jet you must see the needle. Examine if it is usable. Normally you unscrew the vaporizer with the nut at the bottom, then you lift it. Without the needle mounted. Abnormally try to unscrew the needle rod simultaneously with the vaporizer. This is tricky because it too can be stuck on the extender. Have fun, and luck !
Hi Wim thank you for your reply .The needle and jet looks fine . I unscrewed the vapouriser and in doing so I managed to unscrew the needle rod from the needle holder. Any Idea how to remove the top part of the needle rod, ( threaded at top of rod) . the top part will not come out as of yet, not used any force. Is it a case of hardened soot , There was drawings on the reference pages but did not print readable . Do I treat this as the same as a stuck needle or is there a way to extract the needle holder (for want of a better expression). I will get some pictures if this is not making any sense Thank you again Kind regards Michael
uh, I don't follow your here. You have the rod, then the triangular needle holder/needle. These last two (needle/holder) are one and should unscrew from the rod. The rod itself can be unscrewed from the extender.
Yes Wim I only had the rod and the needle holder was still inside Have got it out now filter mesh much carbon - damaged . I think the filter tube was distorted Trying to get in touch with Hytta-antik.de for spares. thank you for you help kind regards Michael
