    @Tony Press

    Not wrong about the trucks, lots of them and no shortage of bad drivers either.

    Hope you have favorable seas for your crossing of Bass Straight.

    Was really hoping to make it along and put off posting in the hope I would be feeling up to it, but I am not really up to tackling the drive and camping .
    I have been in fairly good health after a surgery and several short stays in hospital and 6 weeks of daily radiation over the last 4 or so years.
    My energy and fitness are a bit low still, will look forward to pics and feel jealous of you all ..

    @kerry460

    Too many lanterns to fit in. By the way, I don’t have roof racks fitted so, will gaffer tape do?

    Managed to fit in a few more ‘interesting’ lanterns, a few ‘interesting’ stoves, and about 100 “Nalgene” bottles (HDPE) that I found about to be sent to the dump (they are all “free to a good home”).

    In the end I managed to fit Kerry in the front as well.

    We’re on the ferry ready for the overnight passage across Bass Strait.

    Cheers

    This is just a taster... Tomorrow night (when I download my SLR ) I will post a series of photos of the great Ballarat FL lightup (and reveal the total number of (kerosene) FLs that were lit up on Saturday evening).

    Here is a shot of the floodlights being set up (there were more to be added at this stage):

    A thoroughly enjoyable evening and weekend with much sharing of knowledge and great camaraderie.

    Beside the FLs there were many other lamps, lanterns and stoves, some of which had travelled a long way to get there.

    All of my night photos, and the detailed photos of the many lamps and lanterns were taken on my Nikon SLR, so I need to download them onto my desktop. I’ll be home tomorrow.

    Cheers

    Technical reasons only, David. I can’t download photos from my camera until I get to my computer.

    Cheers
