Sorry team. But can I post a question about blowtorches here ? I have just been given an old Optimus Blowtorch. Today is fettling day. Any thoughts on whether to paint the handle or not. If so. What would you recommend to paint it with I like to keep the character and don’t want to end up with something that looks like it was bought at a fun fair !
Blowtorches a.k.a. blowlamps are fine in the Open Forum - some folk here have been known to have the odd example lying around. If it were me, I'd return the handle to original condition, so if it wasn't painted originally, I wouldn't paint it. If it was, I'd probably use household gloss/enamel paint of the original colour but I guess a rattle can of car enamel would give the same sort of effect...
