Hi All, Anybody seen anything like this before? My initial thoughts are that it's a kerosene stove with the lamp attachment added to increase market share. Not to sure if the Glass is original' appears to be a " wickie " one to create draught. Mantle would be awfully close for a Pressure Lantern. The Name " Verma " didn't bring up anything in Google translate in most of the European Languages. Maybe some of those Stove Addicts can add some light. [ no pun intended ] You can just see the tip of the pump on the RHS in picture. These 2 pictures show the jet and the burner / flame spreader that sits on top of jet. Any Thoughts ? Colin
Colin, Intersting lamp! Here is a catalogue page of Verma products that I got from Neil. Your lamp must be the model no. 999! The chimney ought to be a straight gas chimney not the moderator lamp chimney that sits on your lamp now. I know that Verma has been discussed on a topic and some thread earlier this spring on this forum, but I can’t find it now. /Conny
Hello Colin, that's a rare beast and an excellent find! Will you be restoring it to working order? Check out the links below for more information, Jeff. http://classicpressurelamps.com/index.php?threads/932 AB Atella
Hi All, Thanks for the info, as mentioned is an interesting lamp. At this stage I don't own it, and probably won't as the owner wants a fortune for it. Colin
