Hello everyone, I present a good exemple of lantern Primus N°:991 of 1938: AC/29. She arrived this morning, she did not really serve. I cleaned the tank and the cage with polishing cream. The needle cleaning is broken ! The glass globe is not original, i think circa 1954/1956. The price of this lamp was not expensive, so i'm lucky for me. She smelled strong cigar smoke ! I will revise it for the test of light ! Regards, Titoo.
That's a fantastic looking 991, and the pictures are excellent. Primus 991 and it's larger sibling, the 1020, are some of the best paraffin lanterns ever produced, so you are to be congratulated to have found such a nice example. Or perhaps you aren't... This one is too nice to actually use. Better to get a rough one for a user.
Congratulations Titoo, that is a lovely 991. Your post makes me think I should get my 911 going. But that will take more than a polish
The normal way nowadays; the web. Firstly Tradera and then eBay. And it's always worth watching your own Finn.no . Many a good Primuses has been found there.
I know Christer :-) Was just trying to express my in-envy frustration that jems like this is very hard to come by here. Actually I have never seen them on Finn, which even had 3x HV Standard 102 going just last week.
Beautiful example ! These normally needs a good preheating ! especially if its cold ! Great to se it running !
Hi everyone! As I live in Sweden I can see many 1020 for sale at Web auction site Tradera.se but not many 991. I like the size of the 991 better. Is it like the Optimus 1200 in terms of size? Regards Matti Kucer
Yes, they are about the same size but in my experience the Optimus 200 is a bit brighter and perhaps a bit quieter too.
