Here is an Primus 980 1945 (AJ6). I found it on an aucton site. It's the same lantern as the 981 only without the pre-heat torch. These are well build lanterns like 1020's. Only have to be carefull with the plating on the top, this will easy come off.

Yes they are very silent, I also love the size of this lanterns. It's a little bit smaller than the 1020, and a little bit taller than the 991.
