Greetings friends, I have a problem with the ILSA lamp. I do not understand regular spark plug needle. very little light lighting up a lot of flame if I open it to the maximum.
ah yes, I saw the post later, my bad. Strange that the shape of the tank is different then a petromax "clone".
discover the fault. carbon inside the pipe and dirt inside the tank. inside the mesh comes a small white flame and a lot of heat. It's normal for it to work that way???? I do not know much about flashlights
@javerjayal , it is not normal to have flame inside the J-tube. Replace the rubber seal in the tank fuel cap and make sure the pump non-return valve seal is good. Oil the pump plunger leather seal. Thoroughly clean the upper vaporiser tube with the loop and make sure the loop part is clear and not blocked. Also, cleaning inside the tank is recommended. You can soak the vapouriser in strong alkaline like oven cleaner or caustic soda to dissolve the carbon inside. Then flush with hot water and spray carburettor cleaner spray through the loop. When you are satisfied that the vapouriser is clean, make sure that the jet does not leak on the vapouriser when you screw it back on. Use good clean kerosene in the tank and pre-heat for 2-3 minutes with alcohol in the pre-heat cup. Only pump up the pressure in the tank when the alcohol is almost finished. Then hopefully the lamp will burn normally. Let us know how you get on. We would love to see photos of the lamp burning brightly.
Check that the jet is tight. A loose one will cause a rich mixture and flames everywhere. Don't ask how I know lol.
@David Shouksmith, we dutch can be found everywhere. So the from question is difficult to point out But originaly they come from a small country at the edge of a continent.... And fight their eternal enemy the water since they found use for the shovel and wooden shoes and windmills.
Looks like the Dutch that came to the Cape of Good Hope finally won that fight. No more water to be found anywhere around here...
