Hi, I don't post much here. Over the weekend I acquired a Sears/AGM Single Mantle Lantern (7426 is what I can make out). It came with a ratty mica chimney which I'm going to replace. My oops was that I accidentally broke off a piece of the valve. 1309908621-Sears_AGM4_opt.jpg As shown in the picture.

I also need to find a generator for this lantern. Here's a full picture of the lantern...

This is AGM model 3006 made for Sears between Spring 1940 and Fall 1942. Spares are near impossible so you may have to canibalise another AGM from the period to get the missing/broken parts. I can't remember if you can adapt a Coleman generator to fit but it is perhaps possible. Nearest is likely to be a 200 or similar. ::Neil::

Actually, I've looked in to that... A 200/220 Gen are about an inch and a half to short. a 502 gen. is almost to long but might work with a different tip.... maybe. Of course if it comes to it I may just see about making a replacement. Once I get the remaining piece out and can measure the threads that is...

I have one identical to yours. I was indeed recommended a 502 stove generator. Cut it off and reflare, then shorten the pricker rod. The pricker uses an eccentric similar to Coleman and unlike any AGM (geared) generator.

This will be a trial and error fix that will undoubtedly consume more than one generator.

    Best wishes

I want to add, the length of an AGM model 100 generator appears to be correct. The generator won't work due to the pricker rod, but the length dimension is correct.

This is a cute little lantern indeed. I have one that is in working condition. If I can provide any measurements for parts, I am happy to do so.

I'm having the part made and the guy said he'll get to it this week I need to make one for some one else too. because there's broke when trying to get me measurements... I'm going going the route of making a new eccentric block to use the existing hook on the 502 gen and not bothering with the length of it. I think it will work just fine that way... I have a Kuntz globe for it now too just waiting for the part
