Thanks to some help from a fellow CPL member the Coleman 2242 was worked on, cleaning wire replaced from a Coleman 249, tank filled and peerless mantle fitted. Light up was only partially successful and only lasted a few seconds. Today John had another go, removed and cleaned generator and nipple then lit her up again. Hallelujah! We left her running for 2 hours then shut her down for the day. I’m happy, happy, happy! Before anyone asks the fuel cup was added because we didn’t have long matches to light it through the hatch, this lamp wouldn’t have been fitted with the cup originally.
When I read 2242 I thought what did they make a mistake? Did some research...ohhh that's a rare bird! I have a lot to learn. I'll bet that one would fit very nicely in my Handy pail! lol Very very nice!
