Aladdin 1A

Hi All,

This is my first Aussie lantern.
I recently completed repairing Aladdin 1A.





This lantern is very nice!

The state when this lantern arrived at my hand is as shown in the picture below.

Today, I read @Tony 's article and repair burner unit with muffler gasket.
Then there are no fuel smells

Now I'm looking for older one...

Very nice. I have been working the same model, and have no luck getting it to burn brightly. I added a new jet yesterday, and its still rather dim.

Hello dwillie,
Give that Preston ring a good heat and squelch,two or three times run a fine wire though the top of ring around loop and out the bottom, it can be done and will take out loose carbon,also make sure cleaning needle is set right.

The last Preston loop I cleaned was a bit of a fiddle. I used thin wire to get through the loop the first time, then a thicker wire. I then tested the loop by running a very small ball bearing through it.
