I recently acquired a Coleman 206 and a 220F lanterns. I’m not familiar with them and was hoping someone could give me some information.

    Very general information:

The 220F lantern is a Coleman fuel / Camp gas lantern.
It uses two number 21 mantles.

The 206 is a kerosene lantern, it will require a pre-heat of the generator with alcohol before turning the valve on.

Are you familiar with Coleman lanterns in general?
Or are you looking for more specific info like years of manufacture?

The 206 is set up to be pre-heated with kerosene from the fount, applied to the pre-heat cup with a dropper stored in the collar.

I have a basic knowledge of them. I know the 206 was made in 76. The 220 was made in 66. I would like to restore them to a better condition. I was told that the 206 is rare but don’t know.

The 206 was made for export only, mainly to the Philippines but quite a few also ended up here in South Africa. They are not common at all. They are basically like a super-sized 200 or 201
    and are rated at 550cp.

Model 206 is an uncommon lantern. A very few have turned up in the US. There were two variations with one painted red and the other nickel plated. The plated fount is from 1976 and the red painted fount is from 1980. That is certainly one to be cleaned and cherished. Here are my two dated 11-76 and 4-80. They are a bit rough perhaps but good to have in any condition. ::Neil::

I have a 206 dated 1982 unlit in box bought at a market and very tempted to open and light. Then I sat in a dark corner until the temptation passes.. E934BC0B-A340-41FB-B386-D4F3345B812B.jpeg 782FC110-734B-4153-A020-DFE3BD7745DD.jpeg

I'm glad you resisted the temptation.
That would be a good example to photograph and post in the Reference gallery.

    Pheadres42,
I had to find a dropper rubber at a chemist, and used a Big pen ink tube as a little pipe.
It works fine and looks authentic, especially with the original chain, that I took from another old lantern.
