    hi

Can any one help, i have a X246 1961 model and the threads on the tank that hold the frame to the tank are a bit suspect , does any one know the thread type and size so that i can order a die nut. l I know it wont be metric !!!

Someone on this site mentioned that it's a non-standard thread devised by Tilley themselves. David Shouksmith will probably have a definitive answer though.

Tilley definitely used their own threads but I've no idea what they might be - it's black magic / voodoo / mumbo-jumbo to me...

    Hi Andrew,

Just measured my Dec 1960 x246.
The thread dia is 7.85mm with 22 TPI. From my thread chart that makes the thread a 5/16" BSF.
    :)
