Hello everybody, My wife and I went on vacation in Switzerland. 2 lamps were planned, my wife just did not know how big they are. The other 6 lamps were random. Primus 1020 from 1933 Alpfons senger from 10 1929 Eugen Schatz from? Phoebus 621 from? Coleman 242 B canada sport 9 1949 Coleman 242 B canada 12 1950 greeting Alfons
The holiday was very nice, I had to take the boxes in the camper. To the annoyance of my wife, but was short lived. everything is fine now.
I cleaned the primus 1020, I do not really get it on. after 10 to 15 minutes she has a flame wreath around the stocking, I do not know why. Can anyone help me?
How much have you cleaned the vapouriser? It could be from carbon build up. What about pressure? That catalogue looks interesting. Where and when is it from?
I will clean the evaporator again. The catalog comes from france and is from 1932, the catalog has 30 pages of Prinus lamps, cookers, blowtorches.
As stated above, the jet could be over-size, the vapouriser could have carbon deposits inside (so easy to clean on these with a brass rifle brush) and it wants a good quality 500cp mantle.
Just got my primus 1020 going after having the same problems. Cleared vapouriser twice and replaced jet. I thought a 300 cp mantle would be more appropriate. I thought this was a 300 cp lamp? Got mine going finally.
Nice haul there @Alfons Its definitely a good idea to keep on the good side of your understanding wife ...... Cheers Pete
