Yes I would. Coerced into supporting two blokes, both of them heavier than me and both rather unsteady on their feet. And little old me with my fragile arthritic knees had no escape.

Ah, fragile arthritic knees - that would explain why you were tottering about so much! And there was me thinking you were just completely *pissed!! I'm contrite - my apologies Henry...

*Note to Americans - in the UK, pissed = drunk. Annoyed is 'pissed off'...

 

Apologies accepted David but for my own peace of mind, we really need an independent stone cold sober witness to that event because my recollection is that, I was "tottering about so much" because two big burly blokes rather unsteady on their feet, were using skinny little me as a support in an effort to remain upright. Any tottering on my behalf was because I was outweighed and outnumbered and not by overconsumption of alcohol.

No matter, we all lived to tell the tale and a jolly good time was had by all.

Then you left and the remainder could not stand.
One crawled to his bed.
Another ran to his bed but fell over, broke his glasses and could not get up again.
He was carried to his bed.

My distinct recollection is 4. They were merely expressing their deep affection for each other in a purely fraternal sort of way. IIRC, something along the lines of, " you're my best ******g mate, you - Ah ******g love you..." I'm sure I heard them saying something like that...

Not quite. He could not get up because he'd simply decided to turn in for the night. Apparently he had taken his glasses off and someone accidentally stood on them.

Jings, crivvens and help ma boab! - it's a good job I learned to understand Scottish from reading the Sunday Post when I was a sprog. Also more lately, 'Still Game' has proved to be a useful refresher course (but beware - NSFW, strong language, adult scenes, very politically incorrect and generally offensive for those of a delicate nature/weak constitution. If you're offended, you can't say you weren't warned!!):-

 

I love Still Game but of course they don’t speak the Doric, Glaswegians can’t even understand us.

 

Hi all - just a reminder of where we're camping & the map also shows the additional toilets that will be there again this year. Please camp in the same area as last year, know as the paddock & we will stretch out into the bigger field as required. There may be some non-gathering people camping in that area already

Don't forget you DON't pay at reception (I collect fees over the weekend) but they will direct you if you've not been before. I strongly recommended getting a swipe card for the site barrier for a £5 deposit to save bothering the warden if the barrier is down.

If you're a late arrival & reception is closed please don't push the intercom for the warden. Please park up on the track leading to the barrier & walk around to the rally field & borrow someones card to get in. I'll be onsite from Thursday tea-time. This morning, I looked up the Newark weather forecast on Google, BBC Weather and the Met. Office. Three entirely different forecasts for the same time at the same place! The Met. Office was the best of a bad bunch so I've booked us 5 days of their weather - fingers crossed.

Plan A is to set off for Newark at 1.00pm tomorrow. Those who are aware of my meticulous planning will realise that, as ever, 'Plan A' is subject to revision...

 

Well I guess we’ll see you sometime on Sunday then David. Weather isn’t bad at the moment, not so sure about tomorrow though.
