This is my new 139, my first indoor Coleman lamp. I'll need to find a parchment shade for it, but it is in great shape. There's a "1 5" on the bottom.
All I did was wipe it down with a damp cloth! I haven't lit it yet, but it feels good--pumps up, holds pressure, valve feels positive, hisses--I will be surprised if it doesn't light up right away.
Had me going there for a bit. Model number is 139 not 319. Nice lamps these and that is a real good find in that condition. ::Neil::
I second the kudos on your 139. The 132(A), 139, and 152(A) are perhaps the most "user friendly" lamps Coleman ever made. Now to get even luckier and find a Coleman parchment shade for it. Before Randall Adams got out of the reproduction decal business we "collaborated" in the reproduction process for decals for the 139 and 152. I sent him two founts with good decals so that he could get the font/colors right as well as the radii to fit the fount shapes. He NAILED IT! They are available here. Thanks for the decal info! I work at a small museum, and found a Coleman lamp tucked away. From the shape, I had it narrowed down to a 139 or 152, but the label was too damaged to read. There was enough left to match it to the 139 label though. It's been identified!
I managed to find an old shade. Got the lamp started, and it seems to run well after a fresh generator. The valve does not seem to seal closed, and is very hard to turn. For the time being, I just leave it wide open.
What size shade did you use? Could you post close up photos of the finial on the top? Mine is missing and I'd like to know what the original looks like so I can make one.
The lamp shade is 14 inches in diameter at it's widest, and about 8.5 inches tall. Sorry for the slow response.
