    Hi

    i have the following problem.
    My Tilley heaters were working fine, then i ran out of fuel.
    I ordered some more fuel allegedly exactly the same stuff, same dealer, same brand.

    This is were the problem started.
    I was used to pre heating my heaters twice before lighting.
    I now need to pre heat at least 3 times.
    When i eventually get them burning everything looks normal.
    Then, after about 5 minutes the blue shark teeth flames disappear and all i have is a dull glow in the bottom half of the Mantle.

    With the old fuel everything was ok. Can the new fuel be responsible for this?
    Could it have a different ignition point
    Just thought i´d check out possible causes before contacting the dealer

    Thanks
    Dave

    Have you tried cleaning the vaporizer? Or even pricking the jet by turning the valve? It could be a carbon build up due to the different running mixture when it ran out of fuel.

    @davecapps

    What is the fuel?

    Are you sure you aren’t loosing pressure somewhere?

    Cheers

    Have you tried the fuel in another appliance like a stove or lantern? If it plays up its certainly the fuel.
