I have not seen this before. Petrolux was a brand name used by Standard Licht and by Fanal in Argentina but Petro-Lux is a new one to me. I would assume it was a retail brand used by a distributer in Hungary/Croatia. ::Neil::
Am I safe to assume that this lantern is from Late 1930s .it's marked hasag no 42 and it had bayonet type bail hangars ?No stamping on tank with a pin to hold pump closed.(from infofound on CPL) leans me that way.i can get more pics.It seems newer than that to me???I found a document I will try to download that has a letterhead of company.(I can't read it )it was dated 1938.it looks like they were a factory???
I more lean to east german MEWA production. Pre WW2 all manufacturers stamped their lanterns with their name brand logo etc. Just marketing. After the war the scene was totally changed.
