Hi all, This a rare beast. The second known lamp from this Paris-Ignicole company. The company itself was unknown among collectors as a pressure lamp manufacturing company, until 2014. Then Ara Kebapciouglu alerted some of us collectors of French lamps, of a local Paris lamp auction. There was this Paris-Ignicole vase lamp, that is now presented here in the Gallery, by Michel Binard. Probably made early to mid 20,s. Two burner patents 1920/1922 and one earlier, in 1907. This burner is probably identical to the burner of the one in Michel's collection. Very small and tiny burner with an output of maybe 60-100 CP. We don´t know as there are no ads or catalogue information of this brand except the photo shown in Michel's post. This is a drop-in fount type of lamp and that was what I acquired. The harp type of lamp frame for this lamp, is only a try from me to display what could have been the environment for that fount. The drop-in type of fount was common for wick burner lamps at that time, and many French companies used that type of lamp frame for their drop-in founts. No problem fettling this lamp and burner; nice looking lamp and gives a warm and not blinding light. /Conny ....and some before .......
Perhaps there weren't any problems for you. I believe that. I"m not sure us mere mortals would have been able to do the job you did considering what you started with. It is a beautiful lamp and wonderfully presented - as usual.
